My Message to the WorldSister-to-Sister SummitThe first local Sister-to-Sister Summit was held at Fulton Montgomery Community College on April 29, 2000. Fortynine girls and twentyone women from the Tri-Counties of Hamilton, Fulton and Montgomery participated in the all day conference. Middleschool girls, parents and other interested women discussed issures which effect the lives of girls 12-16 in the hopes of developing strategies to help them deal with this difficult time of their lives. The day began with breakfast and skits by Girls Inc.. Then the girls and adults separated into groups in "Chat Rooms" to discuss such issues as body image, boy-girl relationships and peer pressure. After lunch girls participated in such activities as kickboxing, karate and a board game. A rousing closing presentation by guest speaker Sue McNeil rounded out the day. Sign My Guestbook
