Getting around the net:
The internet is the single greatest source of information in the entire world, and to have access to it is phenominal! Here are some tips to help your life become a little easier:
Get a viruscan program because you never know when a download could kill your PC. There are some ruthless people out there!
Download Macromedia Shockrave TM to allow you to run special video and audio clips around the net.
Download WinZip! This is a very necessary file for internet downloading and program installation.
Go to my reccomended sites if you love PCs, you won't regret it!
(This list will continually grow in time!)
GAME REVIEW:
QUAKE II
From the second you start your trek through the forbiddon tunnels of Q2, you will be immersed into a world of awe. Everything from the shotgun blasts, to the cries of suffering victims, you will love every second that you blast away. And if you think that it is fun in single player mode, you gotta try multiplayer. There are tons of capture the flag and deathmatch games out there, and there are plenty of chances to blow som sorry guys butt away. I reccomend downloading GameSpy 3D TM. This will also run Hexen II, and many other games.
Final Verdict - 92%
CAPSULE REVIEWS:
Tie Fighter - 83% Great space shooting fun - puts Wing Commander to shame.
Heroes of Might and Magic II - 95% A revolution in turn-based gaming
Sanitarium - 91% Very moving and disturbing
Grim Fandango - First looks at this baby are VERY GOOD! Excellent voice acting, gameplay, and 3D graphics.
THE HARD STUFF
Looking for a new 3D card? Wondering what to buy? Well then, you've come to the right place! The Voodoo 2 cards are at large, and almost every one made in this format is good. The real winners are these:
Megabyte Wicked 3D - An awesome new 3D card solution - $269
Diamond Monster 3D II - What we all expected! Bootmarks - Forsaken ran at over 100 FPS in 640x180 res. Quake II was well over 50 fps
ORIGIONAL VOODOO II The origional is still awesome and is still right up there with the best!
SOME CHEAPER, YET GOOD CARDS!
Intergraph Voodoo - $99 MSRP Rating - GOOD
Diamond Stealth II - $70 MSRP Rating - AWESOME!!!
CREATIVE Graphics Blaster - $120 Rating - OK
Stealth II G460 - $150 Rating - VERY AWESOME!!!! (This card is an advanced version of the Stealth II with 8 MB instear of 4.
Have you heard of the new wave in digital audio? It's now here, and the sound is processed right in your speakers! (With digital speakers, of course) You can have great 3D sound with these, and also get rid of the noise from inside your PC where your sound card is located. You just need a USB port which comes with all new PCs or is availible for no more than $99. A USB port allows for up to 128 different devices to be plugged into your PC at once!
