TORN Imagine a world where magic is the source of everything.... -------------------------------------------------- Prologue -------------------------------------------------- There was only one house on the old Miller Road. Its driveway was covered with yellowing weeds and pine needles. It curved its way through the edge of the forest, over a dry creek bed, and stopped short of the rotting front porch. The house, standing at three stories high, was considered a mansion back in the 1930's and 40's. Today, it would be considered a ruin. Several shingles were missing from the roof and were strewn about the vast, overgrown front yard. The white paint was well worn and chipping away revealing the bare wood exterior. The screen door was kicked in and a window was broken on the second story. On the other side of the house was a stone patio blemished with several dark stains. A broken staff lay broken over the stains. Fifty yards away a fallen tree blocked a long forgotten path. The house had been still for several decades until mid summer 2003. To be precise, July 18. That was the day the Young family moved in.
